Spread Love, Not Hatred

Love is the most important thing. Unfortunately, there is not enough of it on Earth or at deviantART. A lot of people have been kind to me here at deviantART, but lately there have been several people who have been really rude. It all started when I posted a lot of my Seto Freaking Out plz accounts on other plz accounts:





I wanted to share it with others. I eventually realized that I had gone overboard and posted it too much, so I apologize to all those who are sick of seeing it at plz accounts. However, I’m still really disappointed at how rude some people have been with me. People have the right to hate my Seto Kaiba picture, but I believe there is a more mature and wiser way of telling me rather than using foul language: [link] [link]

Also, I have a Christian quote from Ghandi in my signature. Someone insulted my signature and said I’m filled with so much fail that I should drink paint thinner: [link]

Some people said that my love and appreciation for brotherly love is creepy and could be incest: [link] [link] I had to explain to them that I’m not into incest. This shows how misunderstood nonsexual, brotherly love is. When brothers love each other a lot, it’s sad how the world interprets it as incest. -__-

Plus, it seems that one member wishes me dead since he posted the following image with gallows in a comment. I won’t mention who he was for privacy, but I checked out his profile and he listed that his interests are, “War, Zombie, Game, Nuclear weapon, Death, Killing, Destruction, Torture, Chemical Warfare, Biological Warfare.”





I also have a sweet friend who received an abusive comment on her art. Someone told her that her art sucked so bad that no one would want to see it and that she should remove it from deviantART.

Furthermore, I’ve seen hateful comments, such as when people talk about how much they hate their parents, a celebrity, their neighbors, etc. For example, there are numerous people who say they hate Hannah Montana for dumb reasons, such as she can’t sing well. We seriously need more love in this world.

Hatred, harassment, abuse, and insults are unacceptable. This behavior can result in suspensions or getting banned. Plus, it’s really rude and immature. Please remember that even if this is the Internet, we are still human beings with feelings. There are actual people who read these comments, even if members at deviantART don’t see each other face to face. Think before you post a comment. Show love to your fellow deviants, not hatred. We need more love at deviantART and in the world.




If someone sends you an abusive comment, there are three solutions. One thing you can do is ignore it. I find it pointless to try to work out something with people who are immature. If you want, you may also choose to block those people from your account so they will be unable to send you notes or comments on your main page, journals, deviations, personal shoutbox (if subscribed), and personal forums (if subscribed). The FAQ at [link] explains how to do that. Another thing you can do is write to the administrators about the problem at [link] and select the category Report Harassment. I usually give people a chance and so far I’ve never blocked anyone, but if problems persist or get worse, I might have to block some people.
